Where is the hope?

I cannot remember what it feels like to actually feel hopeful.  The world is spinning and it becomes evermore challenging to try to spin with it.  Is it a function of the way our country is being led [or not]?  Is it a function of the geometric impact of technological advance?  Is it the ever increasing isms in our culture [racism, classism, isolationism, facebookism, instagramism, ageism, etc]?  Is it the fact that I am now part of the older citizen demographic?  Of course, it is a blend, a compendium of these factors.  What to do?  How to move forward?  How to address all the fear and distrust and hate that seems to be the prevailing climate?  I wish I knew!

I try to face each day as if the glass is half full and it is my responsibility to fill it the rest of the way. I try to make a difference.  I face the responsibility of being responsible for my actions as well as for the well-being of my family and those I care about.  I own the responsibility for being a productive citizen of this world, of caring about people and pets, life and land.  I see Black lives matter, Cop lives matter…..I think all lives matter.  Yet we continue to demean personal dignity and now live in a autocratic meritocracy that does not feel the same way…that accepts…no demands that there be a totally dependent underclass.  Their sense of entitlement and superiority is maddening!

Where do I fit?  How do I proceed?  What can I do?
